The Gospel

The Pilgrim’s Progress
This is a very well-known book that portrays, in allegorical form, the Christian life and its hardships and struggles. It was written in prison and published in 1678 by the English preacher John Bunyan. A modern Czech translation of this book already exists and is available online in several versions. On our website we publish a new retelling based on A. Adlof’s translation, together with his explanatory notes. My aim was to present the allegorical story in as readable a form as possible in more modern Czech, and also to introduce readers to brother Adlof’s notes (which are usually missing from other translations), since they allow this work to be understood more fully and more deeply. Although this is a purely amateur effort on my part, I believe it can still speak to Christians today, in a time when many truths of Scripture are relativized or neglected.

The Pilgrim’s Progress, Part Two (Christiana’s Journey)
We are also publishing the second part of Bunyan’s Pilgrim’s Progress, usually called Christiana’s Journey. It is less well known than the first part, but this work too, likewise portraying the Christian life allegorically, is very interesting and useful. In it, Bunyan introduces readers to the lives of Christians who are not as striking as the heroes of the first part and who live under the spiritual care of their pastor. We believe that in this narrative too, and in the notes of pastor A. Adlof, the attentive reader will find many „pearls.“ We wish you blessed reading!

A Counterfeit Coin
In the midst of our positive work of spreading the knowledge of grace in Christ Jesus, we are also compelled to take a stand against false movements which have made it their program to work upon unsuspecting people and believers alike. They wield the Bible, delighting especially in prophecy, yet they pass over the grace of God in Christ Jesus. They prefer to hide behind the names and efforts of circles of believers, so as to slip in among them unhindered, like the „false brothers“ of whom the apostle Paul writes. Now and then they succeed in carrying away the unsuspecting with their novelties. They appear to be disciples of Christ, as those who have found their redemption apart from the works of the law — but they are not. It must be said plainly that they come from a back-alley mint, like counterfeit coins. Among them are the Adventists. So we present the whole matter here in full. Its arguments from Scripture may serve many for clarification.
